SHE SAYS EAST, I SAY WEST!
And yeah, you'll be in dire straits if you tell her she is wrong. Nothing keeps a relationship on its toes so much as lively debates. You love her, are in awe of her but the bad news is that you want her to change! Reasons? She thinks she is always right but that can't be, 'cos you are! Fellas, here's what you should do...
I'm right, always
“No matter how much you try to prove her wrong, she will find some way to trump that,” says Rahul J, an economics student.
1x1 polls
But fighting over petty things can be fun too as it unleashes the romantic streak in you. Things like which movie to watch, which dress to buy or, which parties to attend can make for interesting arguments. “And winning or losing doesn't make much of a difference. It is fun to tease her. The meetings become so boring otherwise,” says Sunil M, a techie.
The ultimate cause for war is, of course, the battle for the remote . “When it comes to the telly , we are chalk and cheese. I hate those daily soaps and she abhors grand prix,” says Pankaj Pandey, manager with a consumer products' company.
It takes two to tango
So she wants to paint the living room yellow and you are gunning for white? Cultural differences can be a bone of contention, too. Rahul concurs, “My girlfriend and I are at the loggerheads often. She is from a different community, and tends to extol the merits of her culture . That opens up an array of sub-arguments .”
But, if two people can't agree on something, does the relationship necessarily get affected ? “The mantra lies picking your battles. Both of you need to win some, lose some.Don't let her get her way all the time either. Women won't take a pushover for a boyfriend,” says Sunil Kumar, a BPO Employee. Hmm… and we thought we had that art figured out!
